The Matacanes canyon
is located in Santiago County in the State of Nuevo León
(Mexico), a 9-hour drive from Houston.
Trip Features:
- 8 hours of
intense rappelling, jumping, hiking and swimming.
- Two 80-ft and
50-ft waterfalls (jumping into the water and descending with professional
rappel equipment).
- Two caves
where the river turns dark and we will need to jump in the dark (these
caves are known as “The Matacanes”)
- Freezing
water along the way (we will consume chocolate bars to avoid cramps).
- Dozens of
crystal clear water lagoons and abundant trees.
To attend you must: 1) Be in good physical shape and have strong
knees and ankles. 2) Have a positive
attitude towards nature and like adventures.
3) Be ready for Matacanes Canyon…not for the fainthearted!
Cost
of the Program: $200
